Imran Khan halts long march after TV reporter Sadaf Naeem’s tragic death

LAHORE — Former prime minister Imran Khan on Sunday halted his party’s long march on Islamabad after a woman reporter of a local news channel was crushed to death under the wheels of the container he is riding.

According to the information gathered by The Pakistan Observer Digital, Channel 5 reporter Sadaf Naeem met an accident when she was running frantically after Khan’s container in an attempt to interview him for her news channel.

As the incident took place, Khan came out of his container despite serious threats to his life and stood among people who were trying to rescue Sadaf Naeem from the wheels of the multi-wheel vehicle carrying the ousted prime minister.

Soon after the incident, Khan took to Twitter to express his emotions about the incident and send his condolences to Sadaf’s family.

He wrote, “Shocked & deeply saddened by the terrible accident that led to the death of Channel 5 reporter Sadaf Naeem during our March today. I have no words to express my sorrow. My prayers & condolences go to the family at this tragic time. We have cancelled our March for today.”

Talking to ARY News after the incident, Sadaf’s father said she was extremely hardworking and was very happy after interviewing Imran Khan a few days ago. He said Sadaf has left behind two minor children, a daughter and a son.
