LAHORE — Moments before her tragic death, Channel 5 reporter Sadaf Naeem was seen running frantically after Imran Khan’s container in an attempt to interview the ousted prime minister for her news channel.
Here are details of the incident from ARY reporter Abdul Qadir who was on Imran Khan’s container and witnessed the incident.
Khan halted his party’s long march on Islamabad after Sadaf’s death. As the incident took place, Khan came out of his container despite serious threats to his life and stood among people who were trying to rescue Sadaf from the wheels.
Soon after the incident, Khan took to Twitter to express his feelings. He wrote, “Shocked & deeply saddened by the terrible accident that led to the death of Channel 5 reporter Sadaf Naeem during our March today. I have no words to express my sorrow. My prayers & condolences go to the family at this tragic time. We have cancelled our March for today.”

Talking to ARY News after the incident, Sadaf’s father said she was extremely hardworking and was very happy after interviewing Imran Khan a few days ago. He said Sadaf has left behind two minor children, a daughter and a son.
