Former MNA from Ghotki Mian Abdul Haq, also known as Mian Mithu, has contracted the second marriage at the age of 85. He has confirmed the reports about his second marriage.
According to family sources, Mian Mithu has married the 40-year-old widowed daughter of Abdul Sattar Dahar. Mian Mithu has more than 150 sons and daughters, grandsons and granddaughters and great grandsons and great granddaughters.
Political Career
Mian Abdul Haq is a member of the Bharchundi Shareef Dargah situated 8 kilometres from the railway station of Daharki in the Ghotki District, Sindh province. He was a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from 2008 to 2013. He has been associated with the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and was elected to the National Assembly from the NA-200 (Ghotki-I) constituency.
Forced Conversions
Mian Abdul Haq is alleged to have been behind the kidnapping of 117 Hindu girls and their forced conversion to Islam. He has been accused of organising marriages of such girls to older Muslim men at the Bharchundi Shareef Dargah. He has also been accused of stocking violence against Hindus, especially by misusing the blasphemy laws against non-Muslims.
