LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi is not happy with ousted prime minister Imran Khan’s criticism of the former army chief, General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

Elahi, who is ruling Pakistan’s most populous province with just 10 seats in the house of 371 lawmakers courtesy Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), says that Gen Bajwa is the benefactor of Khan therefore he should not be criticised.

Talking to ARY News in an exclusive interview, Elahi said the PTI chairman should not have spoken up against Gen Bajwa since he gave many favours to the former ruling party.

He said it was unfair on part of Khan to criticise Gen Bajwa at a press conference where he was sitting by him. He said he would not tolerate if anyone criticises Gen Bajwa going forward.

Nawaz Sharif

Elahi said he would teach the PML-N a lesson if Nawaz Sharif returns to Pakistan in his government.

Elahi said he would remind the PML-N the incidents of May 25, the day when the PML-N government in Punjab subjected PTI supporters to torture through the Punjab Police in order to disrupt Imran Khan’s anti-government long march. He said he would take Sharif to every jail if he remains in power by that time.

Faiz Hameed

Referring to actions of former ISI chief Faiz Hameed, Elahi said he was against his party and did injustice to them. He said that he called Gen Bajwa and informed him of actions of Hameed. He said that Gen Bajwa then fixed Hameed.
