Amid the rising political tensions in the country, celebrities from Pakistan’s entertainment industry too have come out in support of one political party or the other.
The latest celebrity from the Pakistani entertainment industry to take a dig at a political figure is Nausheen Shah. She shared a story on her Instagram handle on Monday, expressing her feelings about Maryam Nawaz, vice president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and daughter of three-time former prime minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif.
Criticising the PML-N leader in a funny way, Shah wrote, “Being Maryam Nawaz is so fun. Just wake up ignore your husband. Go out in protocol of your father’s slaves, speak nonsense, try to become benazir by shouting to the limit of your throat. Sleep”
Nausheen Shah is a veteran television actor known for her roles in drama serials like Pani Jaisa Piyar, Rehaai, Mera Pehla Pyar, Sartaj Mera Tu Mera, Mann Chalay, Khud Parast, Deewar-e-Shab and Tarap.
In the past, Pakistani actresses Hina Khwaja Bayat, Nadia Afghan, Ghana Ali and Rabya Kulsoom criticised Maryam Nawaz on various occasions.
Just a few months ago, Hina Khwaja Bayat reacted very angrily to Maryam Nawaz’s statement that the Pakistani nation’s flight was going to land in “Purana Pakistan” very soon. Bayat came with the following video message:
