Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif has lost the election in the NA-15 Mansehra constituency, according to unofficial and unverified election results.
Nawaz Sharif, who is said to be the prime ministerial candidate for the fourth time, suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of independent candidate Shahzada Gastasap.
Unofficial results show that Shahzada Gastasap secured victory with 74,713 votes, while Nawaz Sharif got 63,054 votes.
This unexpected outcome marks a major upset in the electoral landscape, raising questions about the prevailing political dynamics in Mansehra. Despite his defeat in NA-15, Nawaz Sharif won the election in the NA-130 constituency in Lahore, where he defeated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) backed independent candidate Yasmin Rashid.
The energy and excitement in Mansehra during Nawaz Sharif’s jalsa were unmatched! Let’s keep that momentum going by turning out in large numbers tomorrow to support PML-N at the polls. #ترقی_دوبارہ_شیر_ہمارا#EkVariFerSher#قوم_کا_فیصلہ_نواز pic.twitter.com/d3iF84NFDJ
