Mahira Khan sends prayers to Beirut


Famous film and TV actress Mahira Khan says she is saddened by twin explosions in Beirut, the capital city of Lebanon.
As reports about the destruction caused by the explosions poured in, Mahira took to Instagram to share her emotions about the incident. She posted a picture of Beirut at night with the caption: “To the loveliest people I’ve met… I’m so sorry… sending prayers.”


Nearly 160 people were killed and more than 5,000 wounded in a massive explosion, which shook the Lebanese capital on August 4. According to the latest reports coming in, hundreds of people have been reported missing, raising fears that the death toll will rise in the coming days.
Also, Lebanese authorities have said that more than 300,000 people have been displaced from their homes due to the damage caused by the explosion. The government authorities have declared Beirut a “disaster city” and imposed a two-week state of emergency in the capital of the Middle Eastern state.
Mahira Khan is a Pakistani beauty with brains. Besides some of the most popular roles she has played in Pakistani TV serials and Pakistani and Indian movies, she is associated with many humanitarian projects. She is associated with the Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital to raise awareness about the deadly disease. Also, she is working as goodwill ambassador for the United Nations Refugee Agency UNHCR.
