LONDON – Ousted Pakistani prime minister Imran Khan’s former wife Jemima Goldsmith thanked God as she came to know that Khan survived an assassination attempt while leading his party’s anti-government rally in Punjab’s Wazirabad town on Thursday.

Reacting to the BBC News story on the gun attack on Khan, Jemima wrote, “The news we dread… Thank God he’s okay. And thank you from his sons to the heroic man in the crowd who tackled the gunman.”

Also, Jemima praised the man who tried to tackle the attacker and another man who was among Khan’s supporters and was killed in the shooting.
