LAHORE – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has announced he will dissolve Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) assemblies on Friday (December 23).
Khan, who was ousted from power on April 10 this year allegedly through a regime change operation orchestrated by the United States, Pakistan’s military establishment and the opposition political parties, is currently pushing for early elections in the country.
Announcing the decision at his Zaman Park residence in Lahore, Khan was accompanied by Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan.
The ousted prime minister once again lashed out at former army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa and accused him of toppling the PTI government in connivance with foreign hands. He said that Bajwa did not allow him to hold the plunderers and corrupt politicians accountable for their crimes.
