Foreign ambassadors greet Pakistanis on Independence Day

ISLAMABAD — Ambassadors of various countries currently deployed in Pakistan wished the Pakistani nation a very happy Independence Day on Sunday.

US Ambassador Donald Blome

The US Embassy in Pakistan posted a short video of Ambassador Donald Blome greeting Pakistanis celebrating 75 years of independence. The embassy tweeted, “On behalf of the Government and people of the United States of America, Ambassador Blome wishes the people of Pakistan a very happy 75th Independence Day!”

Separately, Ambassador Blome and Karachi Consulate staff celebrated Pakistan’s 75th Independence Day by cutting a cake and singing Pakistani national songs.

Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong too was among the foreign ambassadors extending best wishes to Pakistanis on Pakistan’s Independence Day.

He wrote, “Pakistan 75th Youm-e-Azadi Mubarak! Chin Pak Dosti Zindabad!”

Russian Embassy in Pakistan

The Russian Embassy in Pakistan tweeted that President Vladimir Putin congratulated the Pakistani president and the prime minister on the Independence Day.

The embassy tweeted, “Russian President Putin congratulated Pakistan President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the 75th anniversary of declaration of independence of Pakistan. Message noted Pakistan’s success in economic and social development, well-earned respect possessed by it on intl arena.”

Acting British High Commissioner Andrew Dalgleish

Acting British High Commissioner to Pakistan Andrew Dalgleish took to Twitter to extend his best wishes to the Pakistani nation on Pakistan’s Independence Day.

German Ambassador Alfred Grannas

German Ambassador-Designate to Pakistan Alfred Grannas came up with a video message for Pakistanis on the Independence Day.

German Missions in Pakistan tweeted, “The new German Ambassador-Designate to 🇵🇰 has arrived on the auspicious occasion of the country’s #IndependenceDay! On behalf of the entire staff of the Embassy, he wishes all you a very happy #JashnayAzaadi! He has also heard great things about 🇵🇰 food—what should he try first?”

Pakistan celebrates 75 years of independence

European Union Pakistan Ambassador Dr Riina Kionka paid Pakistan a special tribute by playing Pakistan’s national anthem on the trumpet. This year, Pakistan and EU are also celebrating 60 years of diplomatic relations.

Canada’s High Commissioner to Pakistan Wendy Gilmour took to Twitter to greet the people of Pakistan on their Independence Day. She wrote, “A very happy #75th anniversary to the people of Pakistan!”
