Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, daughter of the former prime minister Benazir Bhutto and former president Asif Ali Zardari, on Saturday thanked people “for the outpouring of love & prayers” after she suffered a head injury when a drone camera hit her during an anti-government rally on Friday.
The incident took place in the Khanewal District of Punjab when Aseefa was standing beside her brother, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, on top of a container carrying party leaders.
She was immediately provided the first aid by the staff of the Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) and then shifted to Mukhtar Sheikh Hospital in Multan by the local police.
On Saturday, Aseefa took to Twitter to thank everyone who helped her and prayed for her. She wrote on her Twitter handle, “Would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love & prayers. Deeply indebted to the paramedics at 1122 station Khanewal, Ms Zunaira & Mr Baber for their stellar & immediate first aid. Would also like to thank the local police for rushing me to Mukhtar Sheikh Hospital Multan.”

Aseefa, who introduces herself on Twitter as a “proud daughter of SM Benazir Bhutto, ambassador for p polio free Pakistan, global citizen, rights activist, TV addict and MSc in Global Health from UCL, is now actively involved in the Pakistani politics along with her brother.

Aseefa is currently accompanying her brother Bilawal, who is leading an anti-government long march from Karachi to Islamabad. The march started from Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi on Sunday (February 27, 2022) and will reach Islamabad in 10 days.

During these 10 days, the marchers will make stopovers in 34 cities of the country and highlight failures of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government led by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The PPP is currently in power in the Sindh Province of Pakistan.
