Multan Sultans all-rounder and former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi has been ruled out of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) sixth edition due to lower back injury.
The former Pakistan captain took to twitter and announced the news. He said that he was training in Karachi for the upcoming PSL 6 matches when he experienced pain in his lower back. He said that he was examined by a doctor who had advised him complete rest.
Afridi wrote, “While training for the remainder of @thePSLt20, I felt lower back pain & had to consult a doctor. Unfortunately I have been advised to rest and can no longer accompany my team @MultanSultans. I am heartbroken as I was practicing and training really hard.”

Afridi, who appeared in Sultans’ four Karachi-League matches, has been replaced by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s left-arm-spinner Asif Afridi who would join the Sultans squad in Abu Dhabi.
The Pakistan Cricket Board also tweeted on this issue.
