The First Lady of Pakistan Begum Samina Alvi inaugurated the Women Tree Plantation Day by planting a sapling at the Parliament House on Tuesday.
On this occasion, she said that engaging women for sustainable forest management was a must.
After the event, Zartaj Gul Wazir, minister of state for climate change and PTI MNA from Dera Ghazi Khan, took to Twitter to share details of the event. She wrote, “Thankful to all the female parliamentarians and Senators, along with the First Lady, wife of the President of Pakistan, for their kind participation in the plantation activity in Parliament. They’ll be leading the same in their local areas and will spread awareness for #ClimateAction.”
