KARACHI – A private company is going to launch Pakistan’s first air taxi service in Karachi on June 18.

Sky Wings (PVT) Limited will be offering the air taxi service to the general public, especially business persons, professionals, doctors, lawyers, politicians, celebrities and tourists, throughout Pakistan.

Pakistan's first air-taxi service

Talking to the media, Sky Wings CEO Imran Aslam said this is a new concept as this air-taxi service is being launched with smaller aircraft. He said that a similar air-taxi service was launched in the United States by Uber sometime ago, but its cost was $6,000 to $8,000 per hour. He said that Sky Wings has cut this cost to $100 to $350 per hour. He said this is altogether a different service and different market.

“It is not for the planners, it is not for the richest; it is for the common people who can afford to pay a few hundred thousand Pakistani rupees,” Aslam said. He said that through this air-taxi service people can connect to the airports where this service is not available.
