Pakistan to start phase-3 trials of Chinese vaccine


Pakistan will start phase-3 trials of a Chinese vaccine meant to deter the spread of coronavirus within 10 days, announced a federal minister on Saturday.
Federal Minister for Planning, Development, Reforms and Special Initiatives Asad Umar took to Twitter on Saturday to announce the development. He wrote, “Pakistan will be participating in phase 3 trials of a Chinese developed vaccine for coronavirus. The trials in Pakistan will Inshallah start in about 10 days time.”
Pakistan has been one of the countries affected by the coronavirus pandemic, but the government’s policies to contain the pandemic worked well. The total number of infections in the country is 301,481 as of September 13, 2020 and casualties are around 6,379 since February 26, when the country reported its first coronavirus case in Karachi. At least 289,429 coronavirus patients have recovered from the infection so far.
