The Foreign Office said on Tuesday that Pakistan was not considering recognising Israel.
Unconfirmed reports of a meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman triggered speculations that Pakistan too would recognise Israel despite decades-long animosity between the two nations over the occupation of Palestinian land.
Israeli media and government officials confirmed on Monday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu flew to Saudi Arabia for a meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.
However, Pakistan’s Foreign Office laid all the speculations to peace by saying that no proposal to recognise Israel was under consideration.
For just & lasting peace, it is imperative to have a two-state solution in accordance with relevant @UN & @OIC_OCI resolutions, with the pre-1967 borders & Al-Quds Al-Sharif as capital of a viable, independent & contiguous Palestinian State. 2/2
