Pakistan beat South Africa by four wickets

Cricketer Hasan Ali celebrates Pakistani cricket team's win over South Africa in Lahore on Sunday.

Pakistan on Sunday beat South Africa by four wickets to win the three-match Twenty20 cricket series, which was played at Lahore’s Qaddafi Stadium.

Hasan Ali, who came to bat at the tail end of Pakistan’s batting line, hit two sixes in the second last over to help Pakistan win the third and the final match of the Twenty20 International series. Hasan scored 20 runs in seven balls and remained not out, as Pakistan achieved the 165-run target in 18.4 overs to win the Twenty20 series against South Africa 2-1. This is South Africa’s first defeat in a Twenty20 International series in Asia.

Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and opted to field first in the finale because the chasing team had the advantage due to the wet ball. South Africa had won the tosses in the last two matches and did the same. They lost the first match, but it was clear that the team fielding second struggled with the ball due to the moisture caused by heavy fog in Lahore. Pakistan had won the first match by three runs, but lost the second match because South Africa did a straightforward chase.

To celebrate Pakistan’s victory against South Africa in the Test series and then in the Twenty20 International series, Hassan Ali too, like many other Pakistani celebrities, resorted to the #PawriHoRaiHai meme.
