One policeman martyred, six wounded in Islamabad suicide bombing

ISLAMABAD — A policeman was martyred and six people — four policemen and two civilians — were wounded in a suicide bombing in the federal capital of Pakistan on Friday morning.

According to the media reports, police were searching a suspected vehicle when a suicide bomber blew himself up in the I-10 Sector in Islamabad.

The martyred policeman was identified as Head Constable Adeel Hussain of Islamabad Police.

However, sources at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) said two bodies and five wounded people were brought to the hospital after the I-10 suicide bombing.

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb condemned the Islamabad suicide bombing.

Commenting on the incident, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Umar said presence of suicide bombers in Islamabad showed how swiftly Pakistan was heading to devastation. He said that terrorism was already spreading in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) at an alarming rate. He said that Pakistan’s economy and peace both have been destroyed. “Which direction these power-hungry people are taking the country into?” he asked.
