A new leaked CCTV footage of Zahir Jaffer’s house gives dreadful details of the circumstances leading to Noor Mukadam’s murder.
The footage shows Noor trying to flee Zahir’s house. Zahir comes out of his house, pulls her out of the watchman’s box where she was apparently hiding and takes her back inside the house. She was murdered the same night.
A transcript of the footage was submitted to a sessions court by the prosecution on November 9.
Twenty-seven years old Noor was found murdered at a house in the federal capital’s high-class Sector F-7/4 on July 20, 2021.
The incident sparked a public outcry across Pakistan. Police registered a first information report (FIR) of the incident the same day on the complaint of Noor’s father, Shaukat Ali Mukadam.
Zahir, the main accused in the case, was arrested at the crime scene under Section 302 (premeditated murder) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
On October 14, a trial court indicted Zahir and 11 others in this case — his parents, three members of their house staff (watchman Iftikhar, gardener Jan Muhammad and cook Jameel), Therapyworks CEO Tahir Zahoor and employees Amjad, Dilip Kumar, Abdul Haq, Wamiq and Samar Abbas. On October 20, the Noor murder trial formally began.
According to the transcript submitted to the court of Additional Sessions Judge Ata Rabbani, the time of the digital video recorder was 35 minutes ahead of the Pakistan Standard Time.
